FETCO (Federally Regulated Employers – Transportation and Communications) is the largest employers’ association in the federally regulated sector in Canada, representing major airlines, courier companies, maritime employers, railways, mining companies, telecom firms, the armoured car industry, as well as others. FETCO and its members are committed to pay equity. It is the right thing to do. It makes business sense. Pay equity is one tool that can help reduce gender wage gaps. Currently, our members are implementing the Federal Pay Equity Act across their organizations. Our members meet regularly to share best practices and also consult, on an ongoing basis, with those representing government and workers.

FETCO is pleased to be a part of this critical and ongoing global dialogue on pay equity. EPIC is promoting a multilateral conversation among leaders on the issue of pay equity. We appreciate learning from others but also to contributing to the discussion. FETCO is proud that Canada has full social partner involvement in this important endeavour. We hope EPIC can support a broader dialogue on the gender wage gap, above and beyond pay equity, to get to root causes.
